The role of Delivery + Setup Driver at Catering by Michaels is integral to how the brand is perceived by clients. This is not a typical delivery job where the driver simply transports food from point A to point B. Instead, it is a dynamic role that requires a professional individual who understands that each delivery is part of an overall event experience. Drivers in this role represent Catering by Michaels on-site, directly interacting with clients, venue staff, and guests, setting up food displays and buffet arrangements, handling catering equipment according to strict standards, and ensuring every element of the delivery is flawless.

This position demands excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and attention to detail, as drivers actively contribute to the successful execution of events. They also perform other essential tasks such as picking up equipment, handling business errands, maintaining cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and work areas, and supporting kitchen and operations teams during busy periods. Drivers operate company vehicles and are encouraged to participate in full-service events, providing opportunities for additional event hours and exposure.

Catering by Michaels offers competitive compensation ranging from $17 to $19 per hour, enhanced by tips, a driver bonus program, cell phone stipends, and department bonuses. Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, a 401(k) program with company match, paid vacation, company discounts, and training opportunities including options to obtain a Class C Driver’s License. Drivers do not use their personal vehicles for work, as company vehicles are provided, relieving them of any wear and tear on personal assets.

This role is based out of their Morton Grove facility and requires flexibility with availability since start times and schedules vary depending on event timing and seasonal demand. Peak seasons and holidays are particularly busy and demand a strong team mindset and readiness to support the company’s high standards. Candidates who speak Spanish are at an advantage, as they will be working alongside Spanish-speaking team members.
