Through its team of experienced sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice not only delivers high-quality food products but also offers valuable operational insights, menu development assistance, product selection guidance, and strategic consulting to help independent restaurant owners and other clients thrive in a competitive market. The company stands out for its commitment to building close and lasting relationships with its customers, ensuring that their unique needs are met with tailored solutions and exceptional service. PFG emphasizes inclusivity and equal opportunity, maintaining a culture where every employee and applicant is respected and valued regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. This comprehensive commitment is reflected in the company's policies and its dedication to providing an excellent working environment.

The CDL-A Driver position at Performance Foodservice offers an essential role within the company's operations and the broader food supply chain. Drivers in this role are responsible for transporting food and food-related products safely and efficiently across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. This job demands a high level of professionalism, responsibility, and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers act as the face of the company, fostering strong relationships with customers through reliable service and clear communication. The role includes performing safety inspections, operating tractor trailers or straight trucks, handling deliveries with care, and ensuring that products arrive on time and in excellent condition. In addition to driving, CDL-A Drivers perform critical tasks such as loading and unloading freight, verifying orders, completing necessary paperwork, maintaining vehicle condition, and reporting any safety or maintenance concerns.

This position offers a competitive average effective hourly rate of $38 after training, with a schedule based on a rotating 4-day workweek within Monday to Friday, alongside occasional 5-day workweeks as needed. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is also available to eligible candidates, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting skilled and dedicated drivers. Benefits include day one health and wellness coverage, employee stock purchase programs, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more — all aimed at fostering professional growth and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Performance Foodservice takes pride in providing a safe and inclusive working environment underpinned by a culture of rewards, recognition, and respect. Drivers working here not only contribute directly to the company's success but also play a vital role in supporting America's food distribution system. The job is suited for those who meet all necessary licensing requirements, including a valid CDL-A license and a clean driving record, and are comfortable with physically demanding tasks such as handling freight cases weighing between 10 and 90 pounds. Training and compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations are essential, ensuring every delivery is made with the highest levels of safety and professionalism.
