This position is designed for those who value safety, customer service, and efficiency, working primarily on the first shift from Monday to Friday with a starting hourly wage of $20.00. \n\nThe Delivery Driver at LKQ is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles while delivering automotive parts and products to customers. The role involves manual loading and unloading of delivery trucks, verifying the accuracy and condition of parts shipped, collecting payments where necessary, and obtaining recipient signatures to confirm delivery details. The position operates on a schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or until the daily route and workload are completed, providing a structured and reliable work routine. \n\nSuccessful candidates will be expected to adhere strictly to company policies and federal transportation regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines. Furthermore, the role demands physical stamina to handle various manual tasks such as lifting loads up to 75 pounds, loading trucks, and maneuvering in sometimes confined spaces.   • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain a 'For Hire' endorsement
  • Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Six months related delivery driving experience preferred
  • Prior warehouse operations experience preferred
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, and graphics software
  • Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills
  • May train others, interact with others and make presentations to middle management
  • Problems encountered are routine and solved by following clear directions
  • Decisions generally affect own job or assigned area

Job Duties

  • Drive a Company vehicle in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner avoiding traffic violations and accidents
  • Physically load Company truck at the location and verify the condition of the truck, the manifest, and other paperwork associated with the deliveries to be made
  • Drive to the delivery destination and physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location, confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received, and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location
  • Make proper notations on the manifest and provide receipts on parts being returned from customers to the location
  • Collect accounts receivable, as necessary
  • Comply with established Company policies and procedures
  • Successful completion of annual training as assigned
  • Operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
  • Provide excellent customer service during delivery/pick up of products
  • Assume other duties as assigned
