The role of Delivery Driver at Staples is a full-time position based on a Monday through Friday schedule with working hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This role is critical to the Staples Supply Chain team, where the driver not only transports products safely but also enhances the customer experience by serving as the company’s direct representative on the road. The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering office supplies along assigned routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. At times, depending on delivery volume, the driver may also be involved in loading the truck and organizing products for efficient route completion. Safety is the cornerstone of this role; the driver is expected to uphold all safety protocols, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.

Staples embraces technology in daily operations, and the Delivery Driver will utilize GPS navigation and mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Customer service is an essential element of this position, with drivers empowered to solve problems on behalf of customers, handle product returns, and deliver a positive experience that reflects Staples’ brand values. Drivers are expected to demonstrate strong decision-making skills related to driving, parking, safety, and customer interactions, while fostering an inclusive and collaborative approach with colleagues and customers alike.

The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, push and pull items weighing up to 400 pounds with the help of material handling equipment, and occasionally maneuver heavier items. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record acceptable to the company. Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is mandatory, including passing a DOT physical and drug screening (excluding THC where legally permissible) and obtaining a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of truck driving experience operating a 16-foot or longer straight truck, and experience in high-volume package delivery. Staples offers competitive pay ranging from $19.85 to $22.10 per hour based on experience, with additional earning opportunities through a safety incentive program.
