The role of a Jimmy John’s Delivery Driver involves much more than just delivering sandwiches quickly. The primary goal for drivers is to ensure the sandwich reaches the customer’s hand as fast as possible while maintaining safety and abiding by traffic laws. The driver learns the most efficient routes to facilitate speedy deliveries, checks orders thoroughly to ensure accuracy, and performs delivery duties with a friendly and professional demeanor. Drivers not only deliver food but also assist as in-shoppers when not on the road, preparing sandwiches quickly and accurately in compliance with company recipes and procedures. This flexibility provides more ways for drivers to contribute and earn throughout their shifts.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy being on the move, have good customer service skills, and appreciate a fast-paced work environment. Drivers take home cash daily and have the opportunity to earn an average hourly rate between $20 and $25, which includes their hourly wage, delivery mileage reimbursement (DMR), and tips. The starting hourly pay ranges from $7.80 to $8.80 depending on experience.

Delivery drivers play an essential role in maintaining the company's brand reputation by greeting customers warmly, handling payments correctly, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant. Job Duties

  • takes telephone orders and completes delivery tickets in a courteous and timely manner
  • accepts payment from customers for orders
  • works with management at the end of the shift to reconcile cash from delivery sales
  • works as an in-shopper when there are no deliveries and makes fast, accurate and consistent sandwiches
  • complies with all portion sizes, recipes, systems and procedures
  • must be able to pass a sandwich test at the end of the first 2 weeks of employment and at future testing times
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including all tables, floors, windows, beverage station and restrooms
