Job Description

Grand Central Bakery, established in 1989, is a pioneering artisan bakery that transformed the bread landscape in the Northwest by introducing rustic, hand-crafted loaves that emphasize quality, tradition, and sustainability. As a Certified B Corporation, Grand Central Bakery is part of a global movement focused on using business as a force for good, investing in community well-being, and maintaining environmental stewardship. This commitment to values is reflected in every facet of the company’s operations—from sourcing high-quality, sustainable ingredients to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace for its employees. Over the decades, Grand Central Bakery has blossomed into a beloved culinary institution, offering a wide range of artisan breads and baked goods that delight customers in cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores throughout the region.

The role of Delivery Driver, based at the Seattle Wholesale location at 21 S Nevada St., Seattle, WA, is an essential position that plays a crucial part in representing the Grand Central Bakery brand to customers. The Delivery Driver’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of freshly baked artisan bread and other products to a diverse customer base, which includes neighborhood cafes, grocery stores, and restaurants. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently and possesses a strong customer service orientation. A successful candidate will demonstrate high performance standards, an ability to maintain composure under pressure, and a team-focused mindset to contribute positively to the Grand Central Bakery community.

This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $25.27 per hour, with a typical schedule of 25 or more hours per week distributed across 4 to 5 shifts, including mandatory weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays. Grand Central Bakery values work-life balance and strives to accommodate established days off and vacation requests within their staffing capabilities, ensuring a respectful and well-communicated working environment.

The Delivery Driver role provides an exciting opportunity to join a company rooted in social responsibility and sustainability while contributing to the daily enjoyment of artisan baked goods by customers. Those passionate about early mornings, the enticing aroma of fresh bread, and customer satisfaction will find this role fulfilling. Furthermore, employees will receive training such as the Smith System driver safety program and must meet specific driving and physical requirements to uphold the safety and quality standards of the company. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy driving, are physically capable of handling delivery duties including lifting, and desire to be a positive face of a highly respected brand in the Northwest’s food industry.
