Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a global leader in cloud computing, providing a comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. AWS is renowned for pioneering cloud computing solutions, enabling businesses worldwide—from startups to established enterprises—to innovate rapidly and cost-effectively. With a vast array of products and services, AWS supports an extensive range of business needs, including databases, machine learning, security, and storage solutions. The AWS Professional Services team plays a crucial role in guiding customers through their cloud transformation journeys, delivering specialized consulting services to implement high-scale, mission-critical infrastructure tailored to their unique demands.

The AWS Professional Services is currently seeking an experienced Database Delivery Consultant to join their dynamic team. This role is designed for technology professionals who specialize in commercial and open-source database platforms and are passionate about solving complex data challenges at scale. As a Database Delivery Consultant, you will collaborate with AWS customers and partners to implement database transformations aligned with business goals. Your responsibilities will include developing and delivering proof-of-concept projects, leading technical workshops, and supporting database migration projects to AWS cloud platforms. The focus is on guiding customers through transitions to AWS's diverse database offerings, including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redshift, helping them leverage cloud capabilities to boost efficiency and scalability.

This role includes working directly with customers' technical teams to understand their requirements, analyze their existing on-premises database environments—such as Oracle, SQL Server, and other commercial databases—and recommend optimal cloud-based solutions. You will employ strategic thinking to address technical, product, and business challenges, while advising on best practices for designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud databases in complex distributed environments. You will be involved in migrations ranging from re-hosting existing platforms on AWS, upgrading and optimizing services for cloud, to refactoring applications for open-source database engines like Aurora PostgreSQL and MySQL.

The AWS Professional Services team offers a highly collaborative and inclusive culture, encouraging continuous learning, mentorship, and career growth. They value diverse experiences and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, emphasizing work-life harmony and flexible working conditions. This customer-facing role may require travel to customer sites, providing the opportunity to engage with global organizations and develop solutions that impact enterprises worldwide.

The position offers a competitive salary range between $151,000 and $204,300 USD annually in Mountain View, California, alongside a comprehensive benefits package. This includes sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), life insurance options, mental health support, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. AWS fosters an open environment where innovators can thrive, and professionals can grow their careers by working on cutting-edge cloud solutions that shape the future of technology.
