The role of the Delivery Assistant is a crucial support position within McLane’s delivery operations. This fast-paced, physically demanding role involves working alongside Delivery Drivers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers. While the Delivery Assistant will not operate the delivery vehicle, their responsibilities include unloading trailers, moving products and pallets that may weigh up to 75 pounds, and placing items in designated food-safe storage areas at customer locations. The role requires excellent physical stamina, the ability to bend, lift, and walk frequently, and a strong dedication to safety and customer service. Delivery Assistants are often viewed as the face of McLane to customers, thus interpersonal skills and a positive attitude are highly valued. This full-time position operates on a third-shift schedule starting at 10 pm, with an attractive pay rate of $23.75 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package that begins after 60 days, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and more.
