Airgas operates with a diverse workforce of about 18,000 associates who drive a culture centered on safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. These associates are empowered to innovate, take initiative, and make decisions that enhance overall company performance. Airgas, as a subsidiary of Air Liquide, benefits from a global presence in 60 countries, employing approximately 66,500 individuals, and serving over 4 million customers and patients worldwide. This expansive network allows Airgas to deliver top-quality service and products, particularly in specialized logistics such as dry ice delivery.
The role of Delivery Driver, CDL B, in Hayward, CA, is essential to supporting Airgas' operations in dry ice logistics, vital for numerous industries including universities, laboratories, and healthcare facilities. The position is full time, offering a competitive pay rate of $35 per hour, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This role involves driving trucks with dry ice deliveries primarily throughout the Peninsula and East Bay regions, ensuring timely and safe delivery to customers. Beyond driving, the job requires operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload materials safely.
Key responsibilities include obtaining customer signatures, verifying that deliveries match load manifests, and collecting empty dry ice boxes for return to production plants or branches. Maintaining truck cleanliness, performing pre and post-trip inspections according to DOT and company standards, and ensuring cargo is securely fastened during transit are critical safety components of the role. The Delivery Driver serves as a frontline representative of Airgas, providing excellent customer service and relaying customer feedback to management to uphold service quality standards.
Airgas strongly values diversity and inclusion, emphasizing respect and honor for the unique perspectives and cultures of its workforce and customers. The company fosters a welcoming environment where employees can express their talents and grow in their careers. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' health, financial security, and family life. Benefits start after just 30 days of employment and include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and parental leave, including up to 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefits.
Joining Airgas means being part of a robust, innovative company committed to the environment, safety, and continuous improvement, providing a fulfilling career path with ample opportunities for development and success. This role is ideal for individuals with CDL B experience who seek a stable, rewarding job in logistics within a respected and forward-thinking industrial company.
