In this role, you will engage in preparing a diverse range of menu items including BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, jerky, and other unique food products distinguishing Buc-ee's from typical convenience stores. The position involves working across multiple stations, honing culinary skills while adhering to strict recipe measurements and maintaining strict confidentiality about the proprietary menu. Safety and sanitation are paramount, so the job requires adherence to all health and safety standards to guarantee safe food handling and maintain a clean, organized workstation.

Employees must be adaptable, able to operate various kitchen equipment such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, fryers, and sharp knives responsibly, and proficient in utilizing Menu Ordering Kiosks and Kitchen Management Systems for order execution and transaction processing. You will be part of a responsive team environment where effective communication with management and fellow associates is essential, and professionalism towards customers and team members is expected.

Work schedules may vary, including weekend and holiday shifts as well as alternating day and night rotations, reflecting the seasonal nature and operational needs of Buc-ee's. The role demands physical endurance as prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds might be required. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Restaurant or retail experience preferred, kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, service staff experience a plus
  • Prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g. product or material weighing 40 lbs. or more)
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties

  • Develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
  • Prepare Buc-ee’s unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
  • Adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • Guarantee safe food handling
  • Competent use of various Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management System, and transaction devices
  • Maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
