In this position, the barista will be responsible for preparing a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso drinks and the daily coffee selection, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the coffee service area, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly. Attention to detail is essential, as baristas must follow store policies and procedures, including those related to merchandising, stocking, cash handling, and inventory management. Working in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment, baristas must demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities and a strong commitment to customer service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months of experience in customer service or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to complete Initial Store Training and pass barista certification with a score of 90% or better
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends regularly, any shift, and overtime as needed
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months of experience in customer service or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to complete Initial Store Training and pass barista certification with a score of 90% or better
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure

Job Duties

  • Model Customer 1st behavior and deliver excellent customer service
  • Promote and follow company initiatives
  • Greet customers, answer questions, and suggest products to enhance service and meet sales goals
  • Maintain cleanliness of customer service area and equipment
  • Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day to standard
  • Follow store policies and procedures
  • Perform cleaning tasks according to duty rosters and cleaning standards
  • Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing products
  • Follow cash handling and register policies
  • Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational and cooperative manner
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
