Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • Ability to perform medium work involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Clarity of vision at distances between 20 inches and 20 feet
  • Color vision and depth perception
  • Physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
  • Willingness to follow sanitation and hygiene guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to report to work on time as scheduled
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
  • Make an effort to learn customers’ names
  • Assist customers by escorting to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, taking customer suggestions
  • Answer the telephone and take customer orders
  • Take customer orders at the delicatessen counter
  • Work collaboratively with co-workers for customer satisfaction
  • Review daily orders and product freshness
  • Ensure sanitation procedures are followed and the work area is clean
  • Prepare, finish, and replenish deli products
  • Check in and put away products
