The role offered is for a member of the Deli Line team, a critical position responsible for delivering excellent customer service while preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, breakfast items, and sandwiches. This position is hourly and non-exempt, with a competitive pay range of $20.50 to $23.50 per hour plus tips, reflecting the value placed on skills and dedication. The Deli Line team thrives on a strong team mentality where assisting one another based on daily demands is a core principle. Candidates with barista experience are highly preferred, although comprehensive Sightglass training will be provided to ensure staff mastery of quality coffee preparation.
Responsibilities in this role include opening and closing the coffee kiosk, maintaining a clean and organized coffee and deli area, ensuring food safety and proper product rotation to minimize waste, and continually providing a knowledgeable and friendly customer experience. Team members must demonstrate consistent attendance, communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors, and uphold food safety standards to maintain the highest quality of service.
Physical stamina is required, with the ability to spend between 6 to 8 hours on your feet per day, reflecting the active and engaging nature of the retail grocery environment. Job Duties
- Preparing and closing down the coffee kiosk window for the day's service
- ensure the customer's checkout experience is friendly and efficient
- setting and maintaining the coffee and deli area
- serving coffee and espresso drinks
- preparing and serving breakfast items and deli sandwiches
- monitor product and check for expiration
- ensure products are routinely FIFO-ed and waste is accurately tracked and reported
- providing an excellent and knowledgeable customer experience
- demonstrate consistent work attendance
- knowledge and implementation of safe food handling procedures
- assist in unloading and stocking merchandise for the deli/butcher team
- maintaining a positive, equitable work environment for all staff
