Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #2452, located at 401 E Capitol Dr, Milwaukee, WI, is a prominent retail store that provides customers with a wide range of products including groceries, clothing, electronics, and household essentials. As part of Walmart, one of the largest and most recognized retail chains globally, this supercenter is committed to offering quality products and outstanding customer service at competitive prices. The store operates in a fast-paced environment focused on meeting the diverse needs of the local community while maintaining Walmart’s high standards for safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
The role of a Deli/Bakery associate at Walmart Supercenter #2452 is a full-time position fundamental to the store’s fresh food department. The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare high-quality deli and bakery products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Associates in this role must ensure that all products sold are fresh, appealing, and safely handled. Additionally, associates engage directly with customers at the service counter, providing friendly, attentive service and answering questions to enhance the shopping experience. This role requires the ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to rigorous food safety standards to comply with health regulations and company policies.
Compensation for this role is competitive, with an hourly wage ranging from $19 to $32, depending on experience and location-specific minimum wage laws. In addition to base pay, associates may be eligible for annual or quarterly performance incentives that reward individual and team achievements. Premiums may also be applied to wages based on schedule, facility, season, or specific duties performed, which can add between $0.35 and $3.00 per hour when applicable. This comprehensive wage structure is designed to recognize the important contributions of associates and provide a motivating work environment.
Beyond competitive pay, Walmart offers a robust benefits package that supports the well-being of its associates. This package includes medical, vision, and dental coverage to help associates maintain their health. Financial benefits are also provided, including a 401(k) retirement plan, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Time-off benefits are generous and inclusive, covering parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave, helping associates balance work and personal life. Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
Walmart also provides a unique opportunity for educational advancement through its Live Better U program. This program supports both full-time and part-time associates by covering tuition, books, and fees for various educational programs, ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees and professional certificates. Walmart’s commitment to education underscores the company’s investment in its workforce’s long-term success and career development.
This role demands responsibility, customer service skills, and a commitment to safety. Walmart maintains a strict drug-free workplace policy to ensure a safe, productive environment for all employees. The Deli/Bakery associate position is perfect for individuals looking to grow within a reputable company that values its employees and offers pathways for personal and professional development.
