The position of Deli Team Member at Langenstein's is integral to maintaining the high standards for which the deli and bakery departments are known. Reporting directly to the Deli Manager, the role focuses heavily on customer service, operational support, and upkeep of the deli and bakery areas. Individuals in this capacity will be responsible for a broad set of tasks ranging from selling and packaging deli products to ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the department. Importantly, the role requires the flexibility and willingness to cross-train in both deli and bakery operations, facilitating a smooth workflow and efficient service delivery.

This is a non-exempt role with a work schedule exceeding 40 hours per week, including mandatory weekend shifts. The Deli Team Member will engage with customers directly, providing knowledgeable and courteous service, handling food preparation equipment, managing inventory, and performing regular cleaning duties to uphold health and safety standards. The job also involves tasks such as unloading deliveries, inspecting merchandise quality, coding products, and managing visual merchandising within the deli department to enhance customer appeal.

The physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods on tile or concrete floors, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and using various maintenance and transportation equipment. Candidates must also be prepared to safely maneuver in potentially challenging environments, such as wet or slippery floors, and be comfortable climbing ladders or shelving units as needed.

The ideal candidate brings at least one year of deli experience, a demonstrated work history, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members across different departments.
