Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #444, located at 3315 S Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO, is a part of the world's largest retail corporation Walmart Inc., known for providing a broad range of products to customers at competitive prices. Walmart's vast supercenter stores offer groceries, apparel, electronics, and home essentials all under one roof. The Springfield location is a bustling retail hub catering to diverse customer needs with a commitment to quality, convenience, and customer satisfaction. Walmart's reputation as an industry leader is built on its dedication to innovation, customer experience, and associate development, making it a preferred employer for those looking to grow in retail careers.
The role of Deli/Bakery Associate at Walmart Supercenter #444 is a full-time position that offers an hourly wage ranging from $17 to $30, depending on experience and complexity of shifts. The position includes mid-shift and closing shift opportunities. Deli/Bakery Associates play a critical role in maintaining the store’s reputation by preparing high-quality bakery and deli products that satisfy customer expectations. This job involves engaging directly with customers at the service counter, assisting them with their selections, and ensuring all products meet Walmart’s strict food safety standards. Additionally, associates are responsible for replenishing merchandise from the back to the sales floor, organizing inventory, and ensuring all displays are clean and visually appealing.
Employees in this role also benefit from performance incentives, both annual and quarterly, which encourage consistent and exceptional work performance. Besides the base wage, additional premiums may be offered under specific circumstances, such as working certain shifts, seasons, or locations, with potential premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour. The combination of hourly wages, bonuses, and other premiums allows associates the opportunity to maximize their earnings.
Walmart is committed to the well-being and professional growth of its employees, offering a comprehensive benefits package. This includes health benefits such as medical, vision, and dental coverage to ensure associates and their families have access to necessary healthcare services. Financial wellness is supported through 401(k) retirement plans, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Walmart values work-life balance and provides paid time off options including parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Associates are also eligible for short-term and long-term disability benefits, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
An exceptional benefit to associates is the Live Better U educational program, which Walmart fully funds. This program allows associates to pursue education ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English language learning and short-form certification courses, without any cost for tuition, books, or fees. This innovative benefit emphasizes Walmart's commitment to empowering its workforce through learning and career advancement.
Walmart maintains a drug-free workplace with a strict no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all associates. By joining the Deli/Bakery team at Walmart Supercenter #444, you not only become part of a globally recognized retail leader but also enjoy a supportive workplace culture focused on employee well-being, growth opportunities, and competitive compensation.
