The role of Food Service Worker in the Wegmans Deli department is a part-time position based at the Chapel Hill store located at 1810 Fordham Blvd. This shift-based role accommodates availability during mornings, afternoons, evenings, and even overnight, including weekends, with shifts beginning as early as 5 AM. Compensation for this position ranges between $16.50 and $17 per hour, offering a fair wage aligned with the responsibilities and fast-paced nature of the work.
As a Food Service Worker, you will be a crucial member of the deli team responsible for preparing the freshest deli meats and cheeses, facilitating easy and attractive meal solutions for customers. Maintaining deli cases and self-service cases to be fresh and appealing is vital, requiring regular cleaning and restocking to ensure products are presented at their best. You will also assist in unloading and breaking down daily deliveries, along with efficiently stocking cases, displays, and backroom coolers. Inventory management and product rotation will be part of your responsibilities to maintain freshness and availability.

Job Duties
- Complete customer orders by slicing, packaging and labeling products

- ensure fresh and appealing deli cases and self-service cases by keeping them cleaned and well-stocked
- unload and break down daily deliveries, stock cases, displays and backroom coolers with new and existing products/inventory
- refill and rotate for freshness
