The Deli Shift Leader role at Pilot Company is a key supervisory position within the hot deli segment of the travel centers. This role demands not only excellent guest service skills but also the ability to lead and motivate team members, ensuring that food quality and safety standards are meticulously upheld. The Deli Shift Leader supports the Deli Manager by managing day-to-day deli operations including inventory management, sanitation, food preparation quality, and team coordination. Candidates must possess a solid understanding of food safety regulations alongside experience in the food service industry. This role offers an attractive starting pay rate ranging from $14.95 to $22.22 per hour and includes a flexible schedule that encompasses nights, days, weekends, and holidays. The position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience while maintaining rigorous standards for food quality and service hygiene. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in foodservice or restaurant roles
  • basic knowledge of food safety standards
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to lead and supervise a team
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and food quality

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar position, especially within restaurant or foodservice
  • strong customer service skills
  • capability to uphold a customer-focused environment
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to work as part of a team and interact with various stakeholders including hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives
  • flexibility to work nights, days, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Supervise team members in the hot deli area
  • assist the Deli Manager in ensuring food freshness and quality
  • maintain cleanliness and stocking of the deli area
  • enforce food safety standards and sanitation protocols
  • provide excellent guest service
  • coordinate shift activities and communicate with team members
  • ensure equipment maintenance according to safety standards
