Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or retail deli operations preferred
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and computer software
  • Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments and tolerate exposure to hot and cold temperature extremes

Job Duties

  • Champion company and division customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals
  • Handle customer relations positively including effective resolution of complaints
  • Supervise day to day functions of the service deli including daily inspections and corrective measures
  • Assist with all service deli duties such as receiving, cleaning, preparing, cooking, and slicing
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays
  • Control shrink and expenses
  • Complete and monitor daily log sheet, purchase report, sales, labor, and other paperwork
  • Order, check, receive, and control inventory to ensure proper levels and product quality
  • Ensure proper merchandising of product including implementing schematics, signing procedures, and monitoring product flow
  • Comply with all federal, state and local health and food safety standards
  • Handle customer relations, take and fill special orders, make product suggestions and engage in suggestive selling
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of sales floor, work area, equipment, and retail displays
  • Assist with answering incoming calls and resolving customer complaints
  • Implement emergency procedures in case of equipment or software malfunctions
  • Schedule associates to ensure adequate coverage and training
  • Monitor associate performance and assist with resolution of complaints
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning associates, store sales, and company information
  • Perform all duties safely, accurately, and honestly
  • Other necessary and required duties as assigned
