As a company, BJ's Wholesale Club emphasizes purpose, opportunity, and a collaborative culture, fostering an environment where each team member's contributions create meaningful impacts both within the company and for its members. The organization is known for its commitment to its employees' growth and well-being, offering competitive benefits and a supportive work environment that encourages professional development and a sense of community among its team members.

BJ's Wholesale Club operates as a wholesale retailer, delivering high-quality products across various departments including groceries, household goods, electronics, and fresh prepared foods. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence to ensure that members experience premium shopping convenience and value.

The Deli Lead at BJ's Wholesale Club plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the deli department, ensuring that all activities adhere to stringent company policies and regulations. This role is integral to maintaining product quality, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards such as the ServSafe certification, which the company supports by covering associated costs. The Deli Lead is responsible for optimizing inventory management to prevent shortages and reduce waste while upholding merchandising excellence.

Although the role does not involve direct supervisory duties, the Deli Lead acts as a key contributor to business performance and member satisfaction by executing day-to-day operational tasks efficiently and supporting an engaging work environment. Core responsibilities include managing deli product preparation, accurate pricing and labeling, monitoring and analyzing sales and waste data, ensuring sanitation and safety compliance, and executing seasonal promotions and merchandising initiatives.

BJ's values team member engagement highly, encouraging behaviors that align with its core values: inclusivity, ethical conduct, positivity, and collaboration. The Deli Lead helps foster a safe and supportive workplace, recognizes team contributions, and actively participates in initiatives aimed at improving club operations and customer experiences.

The position offers attractive benefits such as weekly pay, free memberships for team members and their households, comprehensive paid time off including vacation and sick days, flexible health benefits with options for medical, dental, vision, and Health Savings Accounts, and retirement savings plans with company matching. Additionally, employees can participate in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan offering shares at a discounted rate, enhancing long-term financial growth opportunities.

The role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and proficiency in basic computer applications like Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in deli operations or related food handling environments and must maintain all required safety certifications. Physical demands include frequent standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and exposure to varied temperatures and cleaning agents associated with deli operations.

Salary for this position ranges between $20.25 and $25.32 per hour, reflecting BJ's commitment to equitable pay practices considering factors like location, experience, and qualifications. BJ’s Wholesale Club also recognizes the integral role of evolving technologies and values applicants' authentic skills and experiences in an era where AI tools are prevalent. Applying to this role means being part of a world-class team dedicated to delivering exceptional member experiences and operational excellence in a dynamic retail environment.
