The Deli Kitchen Clerk plays a crucial role within the organization by maintaining the highest standards of food quality and supporting daily production needs in the Deli Kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for various prep work including panini and sandwich preparation, packer duties, prep cooking, and salad bar production. This multi-faceted role requires attention to detail, adherence to the company’s recipes and specifications, and a focus on food safety and sanitation practices. Additionally, the clerk will engage in important tasks such as washing, cutting, peeling, and chopping ingredients both by hand and with equipment, packaging and labeling deli products accurately, and monitoring food temperatures rigorously. The role demands strong organizational skills to ensure proper rotation and stocking of workstation materials, as well as extensive cleaning duties to uphold cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. Operation of kitchen equipment such as stoves, fryers, and ovens is also part of the daily responsibilities. Communication skills are essential for efficiently handling tasks including answering phones and pages timely and courteously. The position requires adherence to health laws and safe work practices, including weights and measures enforcement, while also involving reporting of hazards and compliance issues to supervisors. Shift duties include opening, mid, and closing tasks along with attendance at required training and meetings to keep skills and knowledge current. Job Requirements

- Food handlers certificate ServSafe or ANSI compliant organization
- Basic knowledge of Olivers kitchen recipes
- Basic cooking and grilling skills
- Demonstrates proper food handling and safety procedures
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays as needed
- Conversational English skills required when working with customers

Job Duties
- Complete prep work for various areas of the deli including panini and sandwich prep packer prep cook and salad bar production
- Follow and complete daily production sheets
- Aid with preparation of products according to the companys specifications and recipes
- Wash soak cut peel and chop ingredients by hand or machine
- Package weigh and label products using the Cry-O-Vac ROP when appropriate
- Consistently check and record all food temperatures in proper logs
- Accurately practice FIFO product rotation to minimize and control spoilage and waste
- Organize rotate and stock workstation and department supplies such as product ingredients paper goods and packaging products
- Clean and sanitize work areas utensils and equipment including floors counters windows and workstations
- Operate kitchen equipment including stoves fryers and ovens
- Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously
- Follow and comply with established procedures including weights and measures health and sanitation and safe work practices
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations to supervisors
- Perform opening mid and closing duties as assigned
- Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors
