Based in Burien, Washington, PCC is committed to fostering sustainability, health, and well-being for its customers, employees, and the environment. The company emphasizes a culture rooted in integrity, stewardship, collaboration, kindness, diversity, and customer focus. As an equal opportunity employer, PCC ensures a diverse and inclusive workplace where all individuals are respected and given fair consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. At PCC, employees embrace the vision to inspire and advance the health and well-being of people, their communities, and our planet by cultivating vibrant local and organic food systems.

The role of a Deli Helper Clerk at PCC Community Markets is integral to providing excellent customer service in the deli department and other deli stations. This full-time or part-time position offers a starting wage of $21.63 per hour and involves responsibilities that support the overall deli operation. The Deli Helper Clerk performs basic food preparation tasks according to PCC recipes, assists in packaging deli items, and maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards within the deli and production areas. In addition to food preparation, the role may require counter and barista service duties during business hours, dishwashing, retail merchandising, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met to create a safe and welcoming environment for customers.

Employees in this role become well-versed in deli products, specialty foods, baked goods, and prepared foods, enhancing their knowledge to better assist customers. The position demands the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrating strong communication skills, teamwork, and independence. It requires physical stamina to stand, twist, bend, perform repetitive motions, and regularly lift weights ranging from 10 to 40 pounds. The role also necessitates possessing a current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health. PCC values employees who are adaptable to varied shift schedules, including evenings and weekends, ensuring superior customer service continuity throughout operating hours.

This position is not only about performing duties but also about embodying the cooperative's values of kindness, trust, and action-driven care. By joining PCC Community Markets as a Deli Helper Clerk, employees contribute to a company that prioritizes healthful living, ethical food sourcing, and a supportive workplace culture. Moreover, PCC offers a wide range of benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, pension plans, and discounts on store purchases, promoting the well-being and growth of its team members. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about food, community, and sustainability who seek a rewarding career with a cooperative that values its people and planet.
