The role of the Deli Dishwasher is crucial in supporting the daily operations of the Deli Department by maintaining cleanliness and organization. The individual in this position is responsible for handling all dishwashing tasks including cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and trays, ensuring strict compliance with food safety guidelines. Duties extend beyond dishwashing to cleaning and sanitizing the entire dish area, kitchen equipment, work areas, utensils, and disposing of waste properly. Maintaining a clutter-free and organized dish station and kitchen area is essential to sustain operational flow. This includes sweeping and mopping kitchen floors regularly and conducting deep cleaning of departmental areas. The role also includes assisting with daily food preparation and the proper storage and organization of deliveries and supplies.

Job Requirements
- 18 plus years old
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- physically able to frequently lift and carry 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- able to stand and walk constantly during work
- capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and reaching as required
- able to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- willing to work in wet, dry, and extreme temperature conditions
- able to work safely around flour, grains, dairy, fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other food allergens
- capable of using ladders or step stools
- able to wear non-slip, water, and oil resistant closed-toe shoes
- willing to work in an environment with intermittent noise from equipment and machinery
- able to safely use tools and equipment including knives and personal protective equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- food handlers certificate (ServSafe or ANSI compliant organization)
- clear and effective communication style both written and verbal
- team player who can work independently with minimal supervision
- ability to prioritize competing tasks in a fast paced, evolving environment
- ability to follow directions and established procedures with strong attention to detail
- basic math skills
- conversational English skills required when working with customers
- bilingual proficiency preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain clean dishes and kitchen equipment in adherence to food safety guidelines
- scrape food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or using dishwashing machines
- wash pots, pans, and trays
- sort and store clean dishes in designated locations ensuring easy accessibility
- clean dish machines after every shift removing all debris
- clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment
- organize and set up dish stations keeping the area clutter-free
- sweep and mop kitchen floors
- regularly perform deep cleaning of department areas
- segregate and dispose of garbage, compost, excess oils, grease, and recycling properly
- transport laundry to designated pickup areas
- assist in daily food preparation as needed
- aid in proper storage and organization of department deliveries
- organize, rotate, and stock workstation and department supplies
- operate dishwashing machines and kitchen appliances safely
- follow and comply with established procedures including health, safety, and sanitation standards
- report safety hazards and violations immediately to supervisors
- perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- attend all scheduled shifts, required trainings, and meetings
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
