The Deli Culinary Professional Program at Lunds & Byerlys is an intensive full-time training initiative designed to equip participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed for a successful career in our deli departments. Our deli teams are recognized for offering a mix of local staples and innovative, trend-forward food options, positioning us as leaders in our industry. This program is tailored to develop exceptional frontline culinary professionals who not only meet our high standards of quality, service, and craftsmanship but also open doors to meaningful, long-term career opportunities within our deli departments.
This full-time role offers a competitive starting wage of $22.50 per hour during the training period, with the opportunity to earn $23.50 per hour upon successful completion of the program. The training cohort is limited to six participants, ensuring focused and personalized development. Initial training takes place Monday through Friday at the St. Louis Park location, followed by scheduling that includes Mondays through Sundays between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm based on store needs and policies. Training encompasses classroom instruction, product development insight at our Eden Prairie manufacturing facility, vendor partner visits, and shadowing various deli teams across Twin Cities Metro locations to learn company culture and customer engagement.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work full-time schedule including weekends and evenings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel to various locations for training
- Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
- Reliable transportation to training and work locations

Job Duties
- Spend time in classroom training facility learning various skills and knowledge from experts
- Travel to manufacturing facility to learn about product development and production
- Visit vendor partners to experience all phases of products and broaden understanding of the deli industry
- Travel to various Lunds & Byerlys locations to shadow different deli teams and understand company culture and operations
- Master skills and knowledge required to be a deli professional at Lunds & Byerlys
- Provide high level customer service and hospitality
- Uphold standards of quality, service, and craftsmanship
