Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
- previous natural foods industry experience preferred
- ability to maintain high level of customer service
- flexibility to work varied hours and days
- ability to follow health department guidelines
- capability to use food service equipment
- good mathematical skills for weights and measures
- must be able to operate in high-volume environment
- ability to work collaboratively in a team
- ability to communicate effectively
- must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalency degree
- preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in food service department
- previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and have excellent organizational skills
- knowledge of health department guidelines and food safety regulations
- skills working with food service equipment such as knives slicers scales and ovens
- ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- customer service orientation with ability to adapt to fast-paced retail environment
Job Duties
- ensure cleanliness of deli/bakery cases storage and work areas
- stock deli/bakery cases including product presentation and organization
- inspect and rotate deli/bakery products discarding expired items
- assist customers with purchases information and product selection including selling and cross-selling
- receive inspect and log shipments for accuracy temperature and quality
- monitor point of purchase signs and promotional materials
- prepare deli/bakery items using proper ingredients cooking times and scales
