Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not always required
  • previous deli, food service, or retail experience is a plus but not required
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • ability to operate deli equipment safely after training
  • basic math skills for handling transactions and measurements
  • ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and store procedures
  • good time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • capability to lift, carry, or move items up to 25-40 lbs
  • ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks such as slicing, prepping, cleaning
  • reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • comfortable working in a team environment
  • willingness to follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, hot foods, and grab-and-go products
  • maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary deli counter, food prep areas, and equipment
  • follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation guidelines such as temperature checks, labeling, rotation
  • provide friendly, efficient customer service at the deli counter
  • operate slicers, ovens, fryers, and other deli equipment safely
  • keep shelves and coolers stocked with fresh deli products throughout the day
  • take customer orders accurately and handle transactions as needed
  • monitor inventory levels and inform supervisors when supplies or ingredients need restocking
  • package, label, and date deli products for display and sale
  • assist with daily opening/closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and equipment checks
  • work collaboratively with store staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive customer experience
