The Assistant Manager/Shift Lead role at MDBS is a leadership position within the deli and bakery departments, requiring hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations. The Assistant Manager supports the Deli/Bakery Manager by directing teams of 5-10 employees, ensuring a high standard of customer service, and maintaining compliance with safety and sanitation standards. This role emphasizes balancing business profitability with exceptional customer experiences. Key responsibilities include managing inventory, overseeing staff scheduling and training, and maintaining accurate records for financial and operational performance. This position requires an individual with strong communication skills to liaise with commissary management effectively and to promote a positive team environment. The role also involves monitoring customer satisfaction, identifying areas for process improvement, and stepping in to perform staff duties as necessary.
