The role of the Deli Attendant at Emerald Queen Casino is a full-time position that plays a critical part in delivering exceptional food service to casino guests. Starting with a competitive wage of $17.03 per hour, increasing to $17.61 per hour after a successful 90-day orientation period, this role offers excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits. The Deli Attendant will be responsible for serving hot and cold beverages, preparing and serving food items, managing inventory, and ensuring that deli counters, display coolers, sandwich bars, and the steam table are stocked neatly and maintained according to holding requirements.
This position is integral in maintaining the food service quality and cleanliness standards within the deli area. The Deli Attendant must ensure that all display equipment remains clean, neat, and free of debris throughout business hours while maintaining the overall cleanliness of the deli area. This role requires interaction with guests, and as such, superior guest service and courteous communication are essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the department manager, making flexibility and teamwork important qualities for candidates.
Working in a casino environment, the Deli Attendant must also comply with all regulatory policies, including obtaining a Class III B license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. The role includes handling cash and credit card transactions, and candidates must possess a valid Washington State food handler's card. This role demands physical endurance, including the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and tolerate a smoke-filled environment. The work schedule includes day, swing, graveyard shifts, and holidays, requiring adaptability to varying shift times.
Emerald Queen Casino is an equal opportunity employer that applies Indian Preference in hiring as per the policies of the Puyallup Tribe’s Emerald Queen Casino. All applicants are subject to pre-employment drug testing, with marijuana use not disqualifying candidates unless operating a company vehicle is involved.
