Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain
  • successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check
  • minimum 0-3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and pull loads up to 250 lbs
  • effective communication skills in English
  • willingness to work varied shifts
  • ability to follow company policies and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • strong customer service skills
  • exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • ability to operate deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
  • ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • basic math skills for inventory and labeling
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols

Job Duties

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • deliver daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value
  • offer product samples and answer product questions
  • ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
  • promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating and communicating
  • adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • maintain awareness of inventory and report discrepancies
  • review and inspect products for quality and freshness
  • prepare, package, label, and display products for sale
  • utilize production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products
  • follow discard and markdown processes to reduce shrink
  • ensure products are held at proper temperature per safety guidelines
  • execute product recalls and withdrawals timely
  • comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
  • report all safety risks and illegal activity
  • ensure associates work safely and have received safety training
  • maintain equipment in good repair and assist with remediation of safety hazards
