Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain
- successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check
- minimum 0-3 years supervisory experience preferred
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and pull loads up to 250 lbs
- effective communication skills in English
- willingness to work varied shifts
- ability to follow company policies and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- ability to operate deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters and pricing guns
- knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
- ability to work effectively within a team environment
- basic math skills for inventory and labeling
- ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
Job Duties
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
- deliver daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value
- offer product samples and answer product questions
- ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
- promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating and communicating
- adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- maintain awareness of inventory and report discrepancies
- review and inspect products for quality and freshness
- prepare, package, label, and display products for sale
- utilize production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products
- follow discard and markdown processes to reduce shrink
- ensure products are held at proper temperature per safety guidelines
- execute product recalls and withdrawals timely
- comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
- report all safety risks and illegal activity
- ensure associates work safely and have received safety training
- maintain equipment in good repair and assist with remediation of safety hazards
