Job Description
The company is a well-established retail grocery business with a dedicated bakery and deli department committed to delivering fresh, high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Recognized for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, the company values the unique perspectives and experiences of its team members while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. The environment is fast-paced and requires associates who are attentive, motivated, and capable of providing a welcoming atmosphere to customers. Operating under a mix of local, state, and federal guidelines, the company ensures that employees work in a safe and compliant setting while maintaining high standards for product availability, quality, and presentation.
The Deli Associate role is vital to the daily bakery and deli operations, focusing on enhancing customer satisfaction, maintaining food safety compliance, and supporting the team through effective communication and collaboration. This position involves daily interaction with customers, where the associate creates an inviting experience that encourages repeat business and customer loyalty. The associate manages product presentation by preparing, packaging, labeling, and displaying items to promote freshness and appeal. The role also demands strong inventory awareness and reporting discrepancies to ensure efficient stock management and minimal shrink.
Key responsibilities include delivering product samples, answering customer inquiries, fulfilling special orders, and ensuring proper temperatures and food handling practices are observed at all times. The associate reinforces safety programs by identifying hazards, reporting unsafe conditions, and supporting a culture of safety within the department. The position requires familiarity with deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, and knives while adhering to company guidelines to operate them safely.
This role offers varied shifts, allowing for flexible work hours to meet operational needs. Although occasional travel may be required, there are no overnight travel obligations. The company requires associates to be at least 18 years old, authorized to work in the United States, and to complete a pre-employment drug test and background check successfully. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to effectively engage with customers and colleagues.
By joining the team as a Deli Associate, candidates become part of an inclusive and supportive environment where they contribute to continuous excellence in product quality, customer service, and operational compliance. This role is well-suited for individuals seeking to develop their skills in retail food service and grow within a company that prioritizes both employee and customer satisfaction.
