Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- ability to stand for up to eight hours and assume different postures as needed
- ability to frequently reach items overhead, at waist, and floor level
- ability to move up to fifty pounds
- ability to occasionally ascend and descend a step, stool, or ladder
- ability to regularly distinguish speech and other sounds
- ability to frequently identify small print to properly fulfill orders
- willingness to use personal protection equipment when handling fryer grease, cleaning chemicals, cooking smoke or fumes
- compliance with company food safety standards and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- friendly and positive attitude
- basic math skills
- attention to detail
- comprehension of company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
- high school diploma and prior experience preferred but not required
- ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager completion is required and may be obtained during training
Job Duties
- Greet and deliver prompt outstanding service by maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor and connecting with every guest
- open and close the deli on schedule designated by management
- demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and explain them to guests correctly during service
- fulfill and verify telephone and/or fax orders as needed with courtesy and accuracy
- restock items as needed
- maintain daily a safe and clean deli, dining area, restroom, and walk-in cooler/freezer
- clean appliances, pots, pans, hot tables, utensils, and containers as needed
- cook and prepare food consistently to specified requirements, portions, and assembly according to company standards
- maintain inventory level of prepared foods and complete necessary prep as instructed by the deli manager
- ensure products are properly labeled with item, date, and accurate price/PLU
- handle all food served in the deli including seafood, pork, poultry, and eggs according to food safety standards
