Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • capable of working in cold, warm, wet and humid environments
  • able to work safely with knives and other sharp tools
  • willing to wear necessary personal protective equipment
  • able to tolerate strong odors and work in noisy settings
  • able to climb ladders and bend or stoop repeatedly
  • may require certification to operate specific equipment
  • able to lift objects up to 60 lbs with or without mechanical assistance

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in meat processing or skilled knife work is an asset
  • ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
  • good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • physical capability to handle demanding work conditions and repetitive motions
  • willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed
  • commitment to safety and teamwork

Job Duties

  • work with hand tools including straight knives, skinning tools and powered whizard knives to process meat products
  • follow oral and written instructions to maintain safety and quality standards
  • contribute to teamwork and support coworkers on the production line
  • maintain a clean and safe work environment including proper handling of sanitation chemicals
  • perform tasks requiring continuous and repetitive movements such as grasping, pinching and flexing
  • stand for extended periods up to 12-hour shifts on concrete or platforms
  • adhere to safety protocols including use of personal protective equipment and steel-toed safety shoes
