This role specifically focuses on providing excellent customer service as a part of the food and beverage team. The position involves being knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu, including current food and drink promotions, so that guests receive accurate and clear information. Responsibilities include entering orders accurately into the POS system, timely delivery of food and drinks, and managing payment transactions securely and efficiently. The role also includes performing various opening and closing duties, side work, and assisting with ToGo orders and curbside pickups. The ideal candidate is capable of working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility with work hours, and meeting the physical demands of the job, such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Additionally, compliance with Florida's Responsible Vendor and food safety certification requirements is mandatory to align with the company's commitment to quality and legal standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service preferred
  • ability to stand and walk throughout shift
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • basic math skills
  • good communication skills
  • pass background check
  • complete Florida Responsible Vendor program
  • obtain food safety certification
  • flexible availability
  • able to work weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Can physically stand and walk 100% of shift
  • able to reach, bend, stoop frequently
  • able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
  • complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • ability to work flexible hours
  • able to work in a fast paced environment

Job Duties

  • Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food and drink running, etc. as needed
  • be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions clearly
  • accurately enter orders into POS system
  • retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area and deliver them to guests promptly
  • collect guests’ payments, ensure transactions are correct using POS, calculate and deliver correct change promptly
  • perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, assigned sidework
  • pack and verify all ToGo orders with guests
  • greet guests at the curbside pickup area
