The job involves thorough cleaning duties, including washing and sanitizing plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils in line with Flanigan's strict sanitation policies. This position ensures that all dish machine operations are maintained properly throughout shifts to sustain cleanliness. Additionally, the individual will actively participate in the upkeep of kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris, contributing to a safe and organized workspace. The duties also extend to performing assigned prep work, opening and closing responsibilities, and beautification tasks designed to keep the restaurant looking its best.
This role demands physical stamina as it involves standing and walking for the entirety of a shift, bending, stooping, and frequently immersing hands in water with chemical solutions. The candidate must be able to lift heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds, safely and with care. Working in indoor environments that might be damp or hot and occasionally outdoors is part of the job requirements. Safety is paramount, particularly when handling hot plates, pots, pans, knives, and other kitchen utensils. The role also includes supporting fellow employees when necessary and completing a food safety certification program in compliance with company policies and Florida state regulations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Commitment to following safety and sanitation procedures
- Effective communication skills in English
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely
- Strong teamwork and reliability
Job Qualifications
- Can physically stand/walk 100 percent of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop
- Can immerse hands in water frequently, diluted with chemical solutions
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
- Work in damp, high temperature environment indoors and minimally outdoors
- Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
- Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
- Support fellow employees as needed
- Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
Job Duties
- Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Washes and provides clean and sanitized plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, kitchen utensils using Flanigan's sanitation policies
- Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift
- Maintain kitchen area cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris from floors
- Perform assigned prep work, opening/closing duties, beautification duties
- Prepare and maintain dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing
