Job Description
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships in the United States and a leading North American midstream energy services provider. The company specializes in natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation, and storage; natural gas liquids (NGLs) transportation, fractionation, storage, and import/export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage, and terminals; as well as petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage, and terminals. Additionally, it operates a marine transportation business primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's extensive asset base includes approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines, 260 million barrels of storage capacity for liquids like NGLs, crude oil, refined products, petrochemicals, and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
This role is for an Inland Deckhand within the Marine Services division. The position offers a starting pay of $210 per day and includes many employment incentives such as longevity pay, flexible work schedules (14/7, 20/10, or 28/14 rotations), paid schooling for the Person In Charge (PIC) license, as well as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additional benefits include a 401k plan with company match, profit-sharing programs, unit purchase plans, short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, five paid holidays, travel pay, compensation enhancements tied to positive performance, referral bonuses, and the flexibility to live anywhere within the United States.
The Inland Deckhand position is vital for the safe, prudent, and efficient operation of marine vessels. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the captain or other officers on board, performing a variety of important vessel-based operations. Key responsibilities include general housekeeping and maintenance tasks such as cooking, sweeping, mopping, painting, and repairing equipment. The Inland Deckhand will operate portable pumps, manage rigging and lines, assist in shifting, dropping, or picking up barges, and monitor the tow. Communication support for navigation via radio during lock pass-throughs or bridge crossings is also necessary.
Additional duties involve assisting in bulk liquid transfers, handling lines during lock passages, safely casting off lines when departing, and assisting with vessel navigation from the deck. Driving company crew trucks for crew changes and delivery of supplies to vessels is also required. This position demands physical stamina, good communication skills, flexibility in working schedules, and the ability to work in various weather conditions on water and in confined spaces.
This is an entry-level marine services position requiring a strong commitment to safety and cooperation in a team environment. The job requires travel 100% of the time, with the possibility of flying commercial airlines for crew changes. The role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the marine or energy sectors, backed by a reputable and industry-leading company committed to employee development and well-being.
