The role available is the DECK 11 Bartender, a seasonal crew member position essential in delivering the overall DECK 11 experience. The Bartender directly interacts with guests, fellow staff, and supervisors in a courteous and hospitable manner, ensuring that each guest has a remarkable and personalized experience. Major responsibilities include taking orders, offering knowledgeable suggestions around food and beverages, mixing drinks, serving food, and managing the entire beverage experience with professionalism and care. Usage of the Micros system for order taking and payments is a key technical skill for this role.

The DECK 11 Bartender must demonstrate a thorough understanding of food and beverage menus, including allergy considerations, and adhere strictly to brand hospitality standards. Responsible alcohol service as per Florida state law is imperative, and bartenders must monitor guests’ alcohol consumption carefully, halting service when necessary and reporting incidents of excessive consumption to management. Additional duties include bar setup and breakdown, inventory management, cleaning duties, and general maintenance to uphold the cleanliness and integrity of the bar and restaurant area. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Bring to life the DECK 11 food and beverage concept
  • Present menu, answer questions, make suggestions regarding food and beverage
  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, juices and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks, serve food to bar and lounge patrons
  • Serve extensive array of food and beverage knowledge including allergy possibilities
  • Use Micros system to relay orders to food preparation areas and calculate bills
  • Serve food and beverage using brand standards for hospitality service
  • Request identification to verify legal drinking age
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when to cease alcohol service
  • Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol consumption laws
  • Present accurate bills to guests
  • Collect payments and verify credit card signatures
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils
  • Set up bar including liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies
  • Perform bar inventory and ensure security of liquor
  • Inspect bar cleanliness and equipment operation
  • Clean bar and surrounding areas after shift
  • Maintain food safety and handling procedures
  • Adhere to cash handling policies
  • Comply with safety and risk management policies
  • Attend preshift, departmental, and safety meetings
