Job Description
Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is a highly respected company in the IT industry, known for delivering advanced and customized workforce and technology solutions. Established in 1996 and headquartered in Alpharetta, USA, Pyramid Consulting has grown to become a global leader with a dedicated team of between 5,001 to 10,000 employees. The company prides itself on empowering both individuals and organizations to successfully navigate and thrive in some of the most competitive and challenging markets worldwide. Pyramid Consulting’s extensive expertise and innovative approach have cemented its reputation as a trusted partner for clients who demand excellence, efficiency, and scalable IT solutions tailored to their unique needs.
This job listing is for a Data Center (DC) Technician role, available on a 12-month contract basis. The position offers an excellent opportunity for IT professionals looking to build or advance their careers within dynamic datacenter environments. The role focuses on installing, managing, and maintaining hardware and infrastructure within these critical environments. The DC Technician will ensure that all tasks are executed to the highest standards while maintaining operational integrity and uptime.
As a DC Technician with Pyramid Consulting, the successful candidate will engage in a variety of hands-on activities such as racking and deploying servers and networking hardware, meticulously performing cable management duties including labeling and replacing power, network, and fiber/copper cabling, and executing complex hardware replacements and server tray swaps according to stringent operational procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) to support 24/7 operational continuity.
Because these environments are mission-critical, the DC Technician will regularly respond to incidents, troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, and document all maintenance activities and hardware changes accurately in inventory or asset tracking systems. Participation in rotating shifts or on-call schedules is a requirement to provide continuous support, reflecting the company's commitment to operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, partner teams, and internal stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills. This role is suited for IT professionals with foundational knowledge of computer hardware and IT infrastructure, prior experience in IT support or technical operations, and an aptitude for managing the physical and technical demands of working in datacenter settings. Familiarity with server hardware components, basic networking, and ticketing or asset tracking tools will enhance the candidate’s ability to succeed.
Additionally, Pyramid Consulting highly values candidates with relevant technical certifications or coursework in IT, networking, or infrastructure operations, as well as experience or exposure to Linux systems and command-line environments. The work environment is fast-paced and demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
This DC Technician position with Pyramid Consulting presents an exciting chance for individuals dedicated to the IT industry and eager to contribute to critical infrastructure operations in a global, well-established firm. The company culture emphasizes continuous learning, collaboration, and operational precision, making it an ideal workplace for motivated professionals seeking both growth and impactful work experience.
