Job Description
The JCA (Jewish Community Association) is a vibrant and inclusive community organization dedicated to strengthening Jewish life and serving as a common meeting ground for people of all backgrounds. The JCA focuses on enhancing the quality of life of the entire community by providing a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can nurture their body, mind, and spirit. Established with the vision to create a space where everyone can come together in an atmosphere of fun, harmony, and friendship, the JCA offers a wide range of programs, facilities, and services designed to engage and uplift members of all ages.
As a facility that encompasses various amenities including landscaped grounds, athletic facilities, childcare rooms, and mechanical areas, the cleanliness and upkeep of the JCA are essential in maintaining its welcoming and safe environment. The organization values the comfort and wellbeing of its members and guests, striving to provide an impeccable experience at every visit.
We are currently seeking a diligent and motivated Part-Time Maintenance Worker focused on hourly cleaning duties to join our Facilities Management team. This non-exempt position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all parts of the JCA facility and its surrounding grounds remain clean and sanitary according to established standards. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for routine cleaning functions and other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Management. This role requires the operation of various cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums, making technical proficiency a critical aspect of the job.
In this position, the Maintenance Worker will serve as the frontline in providing excellent customer service to members and guests, addressing any concerns related to cleanliness and ensuring a comfortable environment. The ability to communicate effectively with both customers and coworkers is important to promote a cooperative team atmosphere and address the needs of those who use the facilities.
The role demands physical stamina and the capability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds as well as stamina to stand and walk for extended periods. Those selected for this position will contribute significantly to the safe, hygienic, and pleasant atmosphere that the JCA prides itself on. Candidates do not require formal education or previous experience but must be willing to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safety guidelines including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety data sheets (MSDS).
By joining the JCA Facilities Management team, successful candidates will become part of an organization committed to community service and preservation of heritage, fostering a warm and respectful workplace environment. This position provides an opportunity to work part-time with a flexible schedule, making it an ideal role for individuals seeking meaningful employment while balancing other commitments. We encourage all passionate individuals who appreciate the value of cleanliness and community service to apply and help us maintain the JCA as a shining example of community dedication and care.
