The Daytime Athletics Center Housekeeper position is an essential role focused on maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the Pool & Athletics Center during daytime hours. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in providing a welcoming and spotless environment for both members and guests. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing multiple facility areas including locker rooms, restrooms, showers, fitness equipment, pool decks, and recreational spaces. Day-to-day tasks include trash removal, restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and addressing any hazards or cleanliness concerns promptly to ensure a safe environment.

Additionally, the Housekeeper assists with maintaining the outdoor areas surrounding the pool deck, monitors facility conditions to report maintenance issues or safety concerns, and follows strict company guidelines for safety and chemical handling. A key aspect of the role involves offering courteous and professional service to members, guests, and staff, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience. This position offers an opportunity for individuals who excel in independent work and time management to contribute significantly to maintaining high standards in a dynamic athletics facility.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs
  • ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including poolside conditions
  • previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
  • dependable and detail oriented
  • excellent communication skills in English
  • reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping, custodial, hotel, fitness center, or recreational facility cleaning experience preferred
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • excellent time management and organizational skills
  • friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with members and guests
  • reliable attendance and punctuality required
  • must be able to communicate in English

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, showers, fitness areas, pool decks, and common areas
  • maintain cleanliness of fitness equipment and recreational spaces
  • empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed
  • restock supplies including towels, soap, paper products, and cleaning materials
  • sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general housekeeping duties throughout the facility
  • monitor facility conditions and promptly address spills, hazards, and cleanliness concerns
  • maintain pool deck cleanliness and assist in keeping outdoor areas presentable
  • report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to management
  • follow all company safety procedures and proper chemical handling guidelines
  • provide courteous and professional service to members, guests, and staff
  • assist with special cleaning projects and facility events as assigned
