The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services is a vital position responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of common areas in office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial and institutional properties. The day porter ensures that all shared spaces are maintained in an orderly, clean, and welcoming manner, enhancing the overall environment for tenants, visitors, and employees alike. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to daily maintenance tasks to ensure the property looks its best at all times.
Typical duties for a Day Porter at CCS include spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing lobby door chrome, vacuuming elevator cabs including doors and walls twice daily, inspecting the exterior of the building and picking up litter, cleaning ashtrays and sand urns on each floor, emptying and cleaning exterior trash receptacles, and conducting twice-daily restroom checks. Additional responsibilities include sweeping stairwells and landings, removing debris from landscaped areas, sweeping building entrances, cleaning smudges and marks from walls and doors, reporting any maintenance or safety issues such as burnt-out lights or solicitors to management, and ensuring all trash receptacles are emptied and lobby floors dust mopped twice daily.
The position also includes polishing elevator cab railings and call buttons, and assisting the building engineer as needed. Day porters must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious, consistently adhering to procedures and protocols to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. - Previous experience in janitorial or facility maintenance preferred
- Ability to follow safety guidelines
