The role of Day Porter at CCS Facility Services involves maintaining common areas of office buildings, apartment complexes, or other commercial and institutional properties in a clean, orderly, and presentable condition throughout the day. This position requires a commitment to detail and an ability to perform various maintenance and cleaning duties essential for the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of the properties served. A Day Porter ensures that all high-traffic and public areas such as lobbies, elevators, restrooms, and stairwells remain sanitary, tidy, and inviting for occupants and visitors. Specific responsibilities include spot cleaning glass doors and chrome fixtures, vacuuming and dust mopping floors, cleaning ashtrays and exterior trash receptacles, and monitoring the property’s exterior for cleanliness.
In addition, the Day Porter plays a vital role in safety and security by reporting malfunctioning lights, solicitors, or any unsafe conditions to management promptly. This role demands vigilance and the ability to maintain an environment free of debris and unsightly marks on walls, doors, and other surfaces. Working closely under management discretion, the Day Porter also assists building engineers with daily tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. The job requires moderate physical effort and the capacity to work in various environmental conditions including exposure to outdoor weather and occasional contact with hazardous substances.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to work flexible hours
- physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- ability to follow safety and security procedures
- reliable transportation if required
- willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications

- previous experience in custodial or janitorial services preferred
- ability to follow instructions and work independently
- good communication skills
- basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and lift moderate weights

Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- polish chrome on lobby doors
- vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- check restrooms twice daily
- vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- sweep building entrances
- clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- report any solicitors to the Management Office
- police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc.
- empty all trash receptacles
- vacuum carpeted floors
- dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
