Job Description

CCS Facility Services is one of the largest building service contractors in the United States, providing expert janitorial and facility engineering services to thousands of commercial businesses. Known for its deep bench of experienced cleaning and engineering professionals, CCS is a leader in the building services industry. The company prides itself on being guided by a Service Heart, embodying a commitment to serve with passion and consistently exceed customer expectations. This foundation of strong core values creates a community where employees feel recognized, invested in, and have opportunities for promotion from within, encouraging long-term career growth and personal development.

As a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services, the role centers around maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of common areas across office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional buildings. This entry-level but essential position involves a variety of hands-on cleaning duties designed to ensure a welcoming and professional environment for both tenants and visitors. The Day Porter is tasked with spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome finishes on doors, vacuuming and dusting elevator cabs multiple times daily, inspecting the building exterior for trash, and maintaining ashtrays and sand urns on each floor. Routine restroom checks are performed twice daily to maintain hygiene standards. In addition, the role requires sweeping stairwells and building entrances, removing debris from landscaped areas, and cleaning marks from walls and doors.

This position demands a high level of attentiveness to building conditions, including reporting lights that are out, solicitors, or any unusual conditions to management promptly. The Day Porter often supports the building engineer with daily maintenance tasks as directed. The environment includes exposure to various weather conditions and occasional contact with mechanical parts and chemicals, so adherence to safety standards is paramount. Successful candidates demonstrate reliability, punctuality, dependability, and a strong sense of responsibility. Policing the lobby at peak traffic times to ensure trash-free floors and planters is an important part of the role, contributing to a pristine building appearance.

At CCS Facility Services, employees enjoy a work environment that respects safety, security, and teamwork. The company embraces diversity and accommodates individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Working with CCS means joining a community of dedicated professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional service and fostering excellent employee and customer experiences. This is an opportunity to be part of a company that values its people as its greatest asset, providing the support and recognition to build a rewarding career in facility services.
