Job Description

CCS Facility Services is one of the largest building service contractors in the United States, renowned for providing expert janitorial and facility engineering services to thousands of commercial businesses across the country. With a deep bench of experienced cleaning and engineering professionals, CCS is committed to delivering exceptional service quality and customer satisfaction. The company operates on a foundation built on a Service Heart, emphasizing a culture of dedication, reliability, and a relentless passion to exceed customer expectations. CCS believes in recognizing, investing in, and promoting talent from within, fostering a community of amazing colleagues who are passionate about their work and share a commitment to excellence. Their core values unify the company and drive both employee and customer experience to the highest standards.

The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services plays a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas within office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional buildings. This position requires an individual who is diligent and attentive to detail, responsible for ensuring that high-traffic areas such as lobbies, elevator cabs, restrooms, stairwells, and building entrances are spotless and inviting throughout the day. The Day Porter must perform various cleaning tasks such as spot cleaning glass doors, polishing chrome fixtures, vacuuming, sweeping, trash removal, and restroom checks at scheduled intervals. In addition to cleaning duties, the role requires the Day Porter to inspect building exteriors for debris and trash, maintain ashtrays and sand urns on every floor, and report any maintenance issues such as lights out or solicitors to the management office.

Safety and security are integral components of this role, with the Day Porter expected to observe safety procedures rigorously and report any potentially unsafe conditions. Effective communication with building management and responding proactively to maintenance concerns are important responsibilities. Policing the lobby during high-traffic times ensures a tidy and professional environment that reflects positively on the building's management and CCS Facility Services.

This position offers a dynamic work environment with occasional exposure to various conditions such as moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, and outdoor weather. The noise level is typically moderate, and reasonable accommodations are provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Working as a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services also means becoming part of an organization that values dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Employees are entrusted with significant responsibilities contributing directly to the comfort and satisfaction of building occupants and visitors. This role is well suited for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being active throughout the day, and want to contribute to a respected leader in the building services industry.
