This job opening is for a Day Porter located in Burbank, CA. This role is designed for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas within office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial and institutional facilities. The position is part-time, requiring work one day a week on Saturdays, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The day porter is tasked with a variety of janitorial duties essential to creating an inviting and well-maintained environment for building occupants and visitors alike.
As a Day Porter, responsibilities include spot cleaning the lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby doors, vacuuming elevator cabs and wiping down all interior surfaces twice daily, and inspecting building exteriors for trash which must be promptly removed. Additionally, the Day Porter cleans ashtrays and sand urns on every floor, empties and sanitizes exterior trash receptacles, and checks restrooms twice daily for cleanliness and supplies. Vacuuming the lobby, sweeping stairwells and entrances, and removing debris from landscaped areas are also critical parts of the job.
Further duties extend to reporting any maintenance issues such as burnt-out lights or the presence of unauthorized solicitors to the management office. The role demands vigilant policing of lobby floors and planters during high-traffic times to maintain a neat appearance. Regular dust mopping, polishing elevator railings and lobby buttons, along with assisting the building engineer as directed by management, constitute other important tasks.
The work environment involves moderate noise levels and exposure to possible hazards such as moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and electrical risks. CCS Facility Services ensures reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform their job functions successfully. The job requires consistent attendance, punctuality, dependability, and adherence to safety protocols.
Joining CCS Facility Services means becoming part of a company with a strong foundation built on its people, emphasizing professional development, community, and a passion for service excellence. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking a meaningful position within a reputable building services company that values dedication and teamwork.
