The Day Floater role at CCS Facility Services is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas in office buildings, apartment houses, and various commercial or institutional facilities. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties that ensure the building environment remains presentable and welcoming to visitors, tenants, and employees. The Day Floater plays a key part in upholding the quality standards set by CCS by performing daily cleaning tasks such as spot cleaning glass doors, polishing chrome, vacuuming elevator cabs, and inspecting building exteriors for litter. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role includes responsibilities like cleaning ashtrays and sand urns, emptying trash receptacles, checking restrooms throughout the day, sweeping stairwells, and removing debris from landscaped areas.
In addition to routine cleaning duties, the Day Floater is also tasked with monitoring the overall security and maintenance status of the building by reporting any issues such as lights out or solicitors to the management office. The role demands a commitment to safety and security procedures, punctuality, dependability, and the ability to take initiative when necessary. Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- Polish chrome on lobby doors
- Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- Check restrooms twice daily
- Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- Sweep building entrances
- Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- Report any solicitors to the Management Office
- Where applicable, police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc. Policing should be scheduled at high-traffic times each day. Empty all trash receptacles
- Vacuum carpeted floors
- Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
