The role of a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of commercial and institutional buildings. This position is responsible for upholding high standards in the care of common areas, including restrooms, lobbies, elevators, sidewalks, and entrances. A Day Porter acts as the first line of defense in ensuring that public spaces are clean, safe, and presentable at all times throughout the workday. The job entails a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties such as inspecting restrooms for cleanliness and supplies, removing dirt, stains, and trash from fixtures and surfaces, cleaning windows and display cases, addressing spills and safety hazards, and managing waste disposal inside and outside the building. Additionally, the Day Porter will have specific responsibilities like power washing sidewalks bi-weekly, sweeping standing water to maintain safe walkways, and assisting with event setups and furniture moves as required by management.

This full-time role reports directly to the Chief Engineer or Property Manager and involves working under their instruction to ensure the building's upkeep exceeds tenant and visitor expectations. Physically, the position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift and move equipment and supplies. The Day Porter may also be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions including outdoor weather, fumes, and moving mechanical parts and must observe safety protocols diligently.
