Job Description
Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) is the nation’s leading street sweeping company, operating across more than 20 states and serving over 600 municipalities, counties, and government agencies. With an impressive track record of servicing over six million miles annually, SCA is uniquely dedicated to delivering high-performance street sweeping, jet-vac, and environmental services. The company’s commitment extends beyond service delivery by building its organization, people, processes, technology, and investments around uninterrupted, accountable, and results-driven services that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. SCA’s mission revolves around providing essential sweeping and environmental services that contribute to cleaner, safer, and more sustainable communities nationwide.
The role available at SCA is a General Laborer position located at the facility at 10 Kresge Rd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. This is a Monday through Friday day shift role, with Saturdays required on an as-needed basis. The position requires an individual who can effectively support general labor services, specifically in litter removal and cleaning tasks. This role includes operating a pick-up truck to travel to various job sites along a scheduled route and completing assigned tasks within the allotted time frame. Candidates will need to perform manual labor as directed by a team lead, including litter pick-up along highways, cleaning and maintaining retail properties, using tools such as leaf blowers to keep walkways clean, changing trash bags, and identifying any issues on the properties.
This labor-intensive role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally, stand for an entire shift, and perform activities such as walking, climbing stairs, bending, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. The role requires a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and the ability to operate a pick-up truck safely. SCA places strong emphasis on safety and requires employees to report any equipment issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly and complete all required logs and paperwork accurately.
Working for SCA offers a robust full benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans. Additional benefits include company-paid life insurance, voluntary benefits like short-term and long-term disability coverage, accident and critical illness insurance, paid vacation time, holidays, competitive compensation, and opportunities for career advancement. Employees on an hourly basis benefit from weekly paychecks and have access to On Demand Pay through Ceridian Dayforce, enabling them to get paid as they earn. Being a part of SCA means becoming a member of a nationwide leader committed to community sustainability, environmental responsibility, and dedicated service excellence.
