A Day Porter plays a critical role in ensuring a positive first impression for visitors and occupants by performing a variety of cleaning and upkeep tasks throughout the day. This position includes duties such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome fixtures, vacuuming elevator cabs, and removing debris from both interior and exterior areas. The Day Porter ensures the cleanliness and safety of high-traffic areas by monitoring restrooms, sweeping stairwells and landings, maintaining landscaped areas, and emptying trash receptacles. Additionally, Day Porters support facility operations by reporting maintenance issues like burnt-out lights or solicitors to the management office, assisting the building engineer when needed, and helping maintain overall building security and appearance.

Job Duties
- spot clean the lobby glass doors
- polish chrome on lobby doors
- vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- check restrooms twice daily
- vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- sweep building entrances
- clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the management office
- report any solicitors to the management office
- police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc.
- empty all trash receptacles
- vacuum carpeted floors
- dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- assist building engineer daily per management discretion
