The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in common areas of office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional properties. This role involves a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks designed to keep all shared spaces visitor-ready and well-kept throughout the day. The Day Porter is tasked with spot-cleaning entrances, polished surfaces, elevators, and heavily trafficked areas while also managing waste disposal and minor upkeep duties like monitoring restrooms and exterior building areas. Working as part of a team while showing initiative to troubleshoot problems or report issues clearly is crucial in this role. The position requires a detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to safety, dependability, and punctuality, traits highly valued by CCS.

The Day Porter will perform responsibilities such as spot-cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome surfaces, vacuuming elevator cabs and lobby floors, sweeping stairwells, and managing ashtrays across the building floors. Additional duties include trash pickup inside and outside the building, keeping restrooms checked and cleaned twice daily, dust mopping, and assisting the building engineer as required by management. Reporting any unusual activities such as solicitors or unsafe conditions promptly is part of maintaining a secure and clean environment for building occupants.   • Prior experience in janitorial or porter duties preferred

Job Duties

  • Spot clean the lobby glass doors
  • Polish chrome on lobby doors
  • Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
  • Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
  • Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
  • Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
  • Check restrooms twice daily
  • Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
  • Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
  • Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
  • Sweep building entrances
  • Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
  • Report any lights out to the Management Office
  • Report any solicitors to the Management Office
  • Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper and debris
  • Empty all trash receptacles
  • Vacuum carpeted floors
  • Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
  • Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
  • Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
