The role of the Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is integral to maintaining clean, organized, and disinfected workplaces. This position requires a detail-oriented individual dedicated to ensuring cleanliness not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of spaces but also promotes health and safety throughout commercial properties. The Day Porter focuses on internal building maintenance, covering tasks such as wiping down surfaces, managing trash disposal, cleaning carpets and windows, and maintaining restroom hygiene. Key responsibilities include vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors in offices, hallways, and lobbies; cleaning furniture and upholstery; dusting furniture and lighting fixtures; disinfecting high-touch areas like door handles and phones; and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.
This full-time role demands punctuality, dependability, and adherence to safety protocols. It comes with a competitive compensation range from $16.90 to $17.50 per hour. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Additionally, the position requires a physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and occasional exposure to various environmental conditions including mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor weather.

Job Requirements
- Subject to background check and Live Scan fingerprinting in accordance with California law
- Availability to work Sunday through Thursday from 7 00 A M to 3 30 P M
- Ability to occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals outdoor weather conditions risk of electrical shock and vibration
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Dependability in following instructions and management direction
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous janitorial or porter experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Punctuality and reliability
- Willingness to adhere to safety and security procedures
Job Duties
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors carpets rugs windows and walls and general tasks
- Vacuum sweep and mop floors in offices rooms hallways lobbies lounges elevators stairs locker rooms and other work areas
- Clean stains from chairs and upholstered furniture
- Keep furniture free of dust including lighting fixtures marble surfaces and moldings
- Empty trash cans and clean trash cans and ashtrays
- Disinfect commonly used items such as desks door handles office tools and phones
- Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies where required
- Wash and clean windows and mirrors
- Empty trash and recycling containers to the disposal area
- Clean trash and snow from sidewalks if necessary
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors
- Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance
- Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas cleaned and inspected
- Follow safety and precaution rules
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Close doors at the end of the night shift
